Will I see you in Houston ?

With May being right around the corner, I flipped my Blackberry to that Month to get a picture of what was upcoming and it hit me. IHRIM Conference is only 3 weeks away.

While I have my travel arrangements, (Very pleased that my air fare is under $200 round trip!) I am not nearly as prepared as I would like to be for this trip.

Living in the Midwest, I have not fully pulled out all of my warmer weather clothes. While it has been milder in Chicago, it has not been summer weather. Those of you who are snowbirds know what it is like to take the summer clothes out of storage and make them wearable!!!

These next weekends are also key for getting the lawn and garden cleaned up. We had a terrible snow storm a few weeks ago that wreaked havoc on our trees and shrubs that were just starting to bloom. Also, since we have frosts in April, I never plant my annuals until after Mothers Day. However, the weekend after Moms Day is the start of conference for me (we have Board Meetings Sat and Sun before conference starts) so I am either going to plant 1 week early, or 1 week late.... What do others of you do who live in the Midwest?

Although it does take some planning I really enjoy going and am looking forward to conference. I have not been to Houston in a while and the best barbeque I ever had was in Houston, I am so looking forward to good Texas barbeque.

It is a chance to catch up with old friends and meet new ones, hear from others what projects are underway and I really enjoy talking to the vendors.

At the Tuesday Night reception, there is going to be a mechanical bull to ride. I used to ride them back in college when the whole "Urban Cowboy" craze was going on. I can't wait to hop on one again!

At conference, I would really like to hear from you, the readers of this blog. I don't get much in the way of posted comments and your feedback is important to me.

This year I will be doing a daily blog from conference about my experiences and the people I meet. Maybe, I will write something exciting about You!

I look forward to seeing you in Houston.

I'll see you there! Saturday, Sunday and all. Due to application support, however, I won't be able to stick around for the mechanical bull on Tuesday night.

As far as planting goes, we plant first weekend in May, which frees us up for family functions on Mother's Day weekend. Looks like I'm headed for a busy planting weekend.
