One of the strategies for IHRIM is to continue to increase awareness of the organization in the HR Marketplace. To do this, staff has picked some HR and Technology events to attend as an exhibitor. This week they were at the HR2007 show in Las Vegas. This show is focused on SAP HR and is run by a for profit organization who provides publications on SAP Products.
There were over 1500 HRIS types in attendance and the response to IHRIM was fantastic! We obtained hundreds of qualified leads for membership. There was a tremendous interest in our webinar offerings and our conference.
In my career I have worked with MSA, M&D,(showing my age a bit) PeopleSoft and SAP, along with various point solutions for Recruiting, Compensation, and Learning Management. I found that blending vendor specific training with IHRIM training to be the best way to develop my knowledge in HR Information Management. I always felt the value I bring to my employer is not merely that I know a particular software product, but that I know what is going on in the industry.
I have always felt that IHRIM was uniquely positioned to provide me the training I did not get at my HRMS vendor conference.
Based on the response we had at HR2007, it seems that I am not alone.
