News from the IHRIM Board Room

Having just returned from the 1st Board Meeting of 2008, I am truly amazed at the work that your Board of Directors has accomplished thus far.


This year is the first year that IHRIM is tracking to a Balanced Scorecard, and I am here to tell you that "what gets measured gets done" is really working for your Board.


What can you expect from IHRIM this year?
  1. A new focus on Public Relations. We have hired a PR firm. We are well on our way in executing our plans for improved Media Relations, Vendor relations and overall messaging about IHRIM to the public. Watch for IHRIM to appear in more places than ever before.
  2. Improvements in our Association Technology. Our new website is just the beginning. Plans are underway for enhanced eCommerce through our website along with on line tools to better network with your peers.
  3. Our first project from the HRIM Foundation. I can't leak exactly what it is, however thanks to generous contributions from IHRIM Affinity groups the HRIM Foundation has the seed money it needs to begin working on new initiatives. The Board has given staff the "go ahead" to begin our first project sponsored by the foundation. More news about this will be coming out in the next few months.
  4. Education, Education , Education. Our education calendar is greater than ever. The new on line events calendar is getting filled with all of the education IHRIM has to offer, whether it be offered by the Association or one of our Affinity groups, IHRIM is adding more education this year than ever before.
  5. Fund Raising events for the HRIM Foundation. Plans are underway for our first fundraising event for the Foundation. Funds raised will help IHRIM provide research and new education in the HR Systems and Technology field and help to promote the profession. Invitations to our first event will be sent soon. Look for it in you email inbox.
  6. Strategic Alliances. Your IHRIM Board is reaching out to other organizations forming strategic alliances. These alliances will expand our member benefits and our reach into the HR Community.
  7. Continuous Member Feedback. The first in a series of member surveys will be sent out in the upcoming weeks. This year IHRIM will be soliciting feedback from the membership consistently so that we can continuously improve our product offerings and add value to your membership.

It is our vision to be the recognized authority on HR systems and Technology and the steps that we are taking today are moving us toward that vision.
